Patrick VanHorn, host of "Day and Date," narrates this look at particularly nasty tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes and other examples of Mother Nature in a bad mood. CBS.
"Nova" (8 p.m.-9 p.m., MPT, Channels 22 and 67) -- Can't get enough of the Rebel Yell? Does that old wooden thing at Hershey Park get your blood rushing? Is no visit to New York complete without a trip to the Coney Island roller coaster? This is for you. PBS.
"Frontline" (9 p.m.-10 p.m., MPT, Channels 22 and 67) -- Jesse Jackson is profiled, from his southern upbringing to his 1984 and 1988 bids for the presidency. Among those interviewed are his wife and mother. MPT.
"Frasier" (9 p.m.-9: 30 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Frasier's loopy agent returns, and all heck breaks loose. NBC.
"NYPD Blue" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) continues the daddy watch while Abandando (Gail O'Grady) considers a new job in a whole new place (which is convenient, since she's getting ready to leave the series). ABC.
"Dateline NBC" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- It must be Chicago week on NBC, as Jay Leno takes his "Tonight Show" to the Windy City and "Dateline" interviews NBA bad-boy Dennis Rodman, who shows up tonight in a see-through blouse and feather boa -- and tells how he almost became the father of Madonna's child. Talk about your Must-See TV. NBC.
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (11: 35 p.m.-12: 35 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- After Oprah, who else do you have on your big-time talk-variety show while in Chicago? Siskel & Ebert, of course! (Oprah is scheduled for Thursday night.) NBC.
"Banacek" (3: 30 p.m.-5 p.m., A&E;) -- Linda Evans, of "The Big Valley," "Dynasty" and Mrs. John Derek fame (she was followed in the Mrs. John Derek game by Bo Derek) guest stars as Banacek (George Peppard) tries to recover a stolen rocket engine.
"Bewitched" (9: 30 p.m.-10 p.m., Nickelodeon) -- Would you believe Racquel Welch? She's the soon-to-be-famous guest star here as Samantha twitches her nose and enjoys lunch in Paris -- where she accidentally bumps into Darrin's boss, Larry Tate.
"The Magnificent Ambersons" (7 p.m.-8: 45 p.m., TCM) -- Hollywood is replete with nightmare tales of masterpieces ripped from director's hands by shameless movie studio goons who just don't get it and decide the only thing to do is make the movie shorter. This adaptation of Booth Tarkington's novels may be the most famous example, as RKO decided Orson Welles did not know best when it came to this follow-up to the 1941 classic, "Citizen Kane." The result is still regarded as one heck of a movie, but no one will ever know how good it could have been.
