O'Conor, Piper & Flynn sets record in March
O'Conor, Piper & Flynn, Maryland's largest real estate brokerage, had a record March, with residential sales up more than 42 percent over March 1995. The Timonium-based brokerage was involved in more than $245 million worth of home sales, as the listing agent, selling agent or both. That compares with around $172 million the previous March.
OPF also had its first $2 billion sales year in 1995, with its 1,450 agents involved in 17,545 transactions.
Patriot's sales rise 17% in quarter
Patriot Homes, the 10th-largest builder in the Baltimore region, had a 17 percent increase in the number of homes sold in the first quarter, compared with the same period in 1995. Patriot President Rick Kunkle said the 74 net sales were the best quarterly performance since the Columbia-based company was founded in 1990. In the Baltimore area, Patriot sells homes averaging around $203,000.
Realtor convention coming to Timonium
The first regional Realtor convention is scheduled for May 22 at the Maryland State Fair Grounds in Timonium. The day-long convention is being held by the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors and the Realtor boards in Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties. The GBBR organized this convention to replace the one it traditionally held in the fall. The convention will feature a trade show, classes and presentations by multiple-list services.
