Angels: Outfielder Jim Edmonds, first baseman J. T. Snow and reliever Troy Percival signed multi-year contracts with California yesterday. Monetary terms of the contracts were not announced.
Brewers: Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson blasted Chicago White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf for criticizing the Brewers' stalled plan for financing a new stadium. Thompson suggested that Reinsdorf, who called it absurd for Brewers president Bud Selig to contribute $90 million for the stadium project, "wants to try and con the people of Wisconsin."
Mariners: The club announced that Chris Bosio, on the disabled list with an ailing right knee after off-season surgery, will make a start for Single-A Lancaster on Monday. He pitched five innings in minor-league spring training in Peoria, Ariz., yesterday.
Twins: Dave Hollins had reached safely in eight consecutive plate appearances before leaving with a strained left hamstring in the fifth. He is day-to-day, and manager Tom Kelly is hopeful he'll be able to play tomorrow against the Orioles. . . . Pitcher Rick Aguilera, was aggravated a tendon in the forearm on his throwing arm on March 26, won't be ready Monday when he is eligible to come off the DL and almost certainly will miss his scheduled start next Wednesday.
White Sox: Pitcher Kevin Tapani, who left the game early with a slight groin pull, isn't expected to miss his next start.
