BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Spirit exorcised the ghosts of past disasters at Memorial Auditorium in its final regular-season game at the site yesterday.
With its 12-10 win over the Blizzard, the Spirit moved ahead of Buffalo into second in the NPSL's American Division. The win was its second in nine games there.
Spirit coach Mike Stankovic, victorious in six of seven games since he took over, said, "It's very difficult to beat them here. They know how to play here so well."
Riding a 20-save performance by Joe Mallia, the Spirit swept a three-games-in-three-days series for the first time in club history.
