As expected, the Rules and Infractions Committee yesterday upheld an allegation that Mount Hebron baseball coach Pat Crouse violated a state rule by conducting an out-of-season practice Feb. 9.
The committee, consisting of Wilde Lake principal Bonnie Daniel, Atholton athletic director Don Van Deusen and Centennial baseball coach Ron Martin, voted, 2-1, that it was an illegal practice and imposed the following penalties:
* Mount Hebron must forfeit the first baseball game it plays.
* Crouse will receive a letter of censure.
The team practiced during an open gym session after a girls basketball game, and Crouse attended the session. His presence created the violation.
Mount Hebron principal Adrian Kaufman will not appeal the committee's decision.
