'48 Hours' finds 'missing' stars

The ice-skating onslaught continues, as TBS airs its first of four consecutive nights of competition featuring some of the world's most talented amateurs.

* "The Emperor Jones" (8 p.m.-9:30 p.m., WHMM, Channel 32) -- This month's Black History Month celebration has unearthed a treasure trove of films featuring some woefully neglected African-American stars of the 1930s and 1940s. Tonight, Paul Robeson, who was not only a fine actor but had one of the world's great singing voices, stars in Eugene O'Neill's "The Emperor Jones."

* "Martin" (8:30 p.m.-9 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- Tisha Campbell, who plays Gina, is the host for a compilation of clips from the the show's first four years. Fox.

* "Seinfeld" (9 p.m.-9:30 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- Elaine fails her drug test (Elaine!) and Jerry talks about his family on "The Tonight Show," much to their displeasure. Jay Leno, who must put in 25-hour workdays, makes a guest appearance. NBC.

* "48 Hours" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- Ever wonder what happened to Anita Bryant? (Not me.) The Lennon Sisters? (Maybe.) Captain Kangaroo? (Absolutely! And what about Dancing Bear?) Here's your chance to find out what happened to these and other folks, as Dan Rather & Co. look for people who have fallen from the spotlight. CBS.

* "United States of Poetry" (11 p.m-11:30 p.m., MPT, Channels 22 and 67) -- This eye-opening, celebratory look at this country's poets concludes with poems from former President Jimmy Carter, Jack Kerouac (read by Johnny Depp) and plenty of others.

* "Tentacles" (1:05 p.m.-3:05 p.m., TBS) -- A giant octopus terrorizes a Southern California beach community. Apparently, no one thought to point out, hey, it's just an octopus! Dumb.

* "Centennial on Ice" (8:05 p.m.-10:05 p.m., TBS) -- The men's and pairs competitions are featured in this first of four straight nights of figure skating, held in St. Petersburg, Russia, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of competitive skating.
