Lincoln logs a lot of cable time

* "The American Experience" (9 p.m.-10 p.m., MPT, Channels 22 and 67) -- "The Wright Stuff" is a quiet look at Wilbur and Orville Wright, who took time from their jobs making bicycles to invent the airplane. Not the best or most enthralling "American Experience," it's still interesting stuff. PBS.

* "Partners" (9:30 p.m.-10 p.m., WBFF, Channel 45) -- In a sweeps week coup that can't be making NBC happy, Jennifer Aniston of "Friends" shows up as a new girlfriend who asks Bob (Jon Cryer) to shave his goatee. Fox.


* "Remington Steele" (5 p.m.-6 p.m., repeats 8 a.m.-9 a.m. tomorrow, A&E;) -- Laura and Remington go undercover at a fantasy baseball camp and run up against Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford.

* "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" (8 p.m.-10 p.m.) and "Young Mr. Lincoln" (10 p.m.-11:30 p.m., AMC) -- Raymond Massey and Henry Fonda, respectively, portray Honest Abe before he became president. "Illinois" was a Pulitzer Prize-winning play, and "Young" was directed by John Ford.

* "ESPY Awards" (8 p.m.-10:30 p.m., ESPN) -- Here's yet another opportunity for Cal Ripken to win an award, as ESPN honors 1995's greatest accomplishments in sports. Broadcast live from New York's Radio City Music Hall.

* "Nick at Nite Loves Lucy" (8 p.m.-midnight, Nickelodeon) -- Everyone's going to have enough of Lucy by the end of this week. Through Friday, it's six hours nightly of the redhead and her bandleader husband. Help

* "Gore Vidal's Lincoln" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., Disney) -- If ever an actor was born to play Abraham Lincoln, it was Sam Waterston. Doubt me? Watch this two-part adaptation of Gore Vidal's historical novel (Part 2 airs at the same time tomorrow night) and believe.

* "Last of the Czars" (10 p.m.-11 p.m., repeats 2 a.m.-3 a.m., Discovery) -- This first of a three-part look at the tragic reign of Czar Nicholas II begins with the 1881 assassination of his grandfather, Alexander II. Parts 2 and 3 air at the same time tomorrow and Wednesday.
