Jill Nadine Clements started making scented bath and beauty creams in her grandmother's Parkville kitchen in 1989. In those days she supplied a handful of stores; today Nadina's Cremes are made in a large Baltimore warehouse and can be found in shops in all 50 states, the Caribbean and beyond. The creams, which are packaged in pottery jars handmade by local potters, come in 16 scents and three sizes. Locally, they're sold at the Cosmetic Center stores, Fresh Fields markets and other specialty shops. The price ranges from $10 to $15. Need a last-minute Valentine's gift? Need we say more? While it's no longer politically correct to lavish your loved one with furs, there's no need to throw the old garments out. Fur-Get-Me-Not will transform your old coat and other fur item into a -- teddy bear. That's right, company owners Sandy and Dan Kearney will recycle your fur into a small, medium, large or extra-large bear depending on the size and condition of the garment. The only requirement is that the fur be at least the size of a stole. The price for a small, medium or large bear is $175; an extra-large bear is $225. Custom touches, such as leather or suede paws, or a vintage lace collar, are available for additional fees. To request an order form, price list or more information, call (800) 551-BEAR.
