A Glen Burnie man, who last week reported that he was robbed, was arrested Wednesday and charged with trying to rob a pharmacy, county police said.
Eugene Carl Ocus, 49, of the 200 block of Polk Drive was charged with assault with intent to rob.
Two employees at Linthicum Pharmacy in the 400 block of Hammonds Ferry Road told police a man wearing a stocking cap over his head had entered the store shortly after 3 p.m. and threw a note on the counter that demanded prescription drugs and implied he had a weapon, police said.
The employees refused the man's request, and he ran to his car and left, police said. The employees gave police a description of the car, and an officer found it about a mile away, police said.
Officers discovered the note and a stocking cap in the man's car, police said.
One week ago, police said Mr. Ocus told them he was robbed by an unarmed man wearing a green Army jacket and blue jeans. He said the man demanded money from him after he parked his car in front of Pizza Hut in the Chesapeake Shopping Center at Ritchie Highway and Ordnance Road. Mr. Ocus gave the man a $20 bill, and he ran away, police said.
