An evening of 'Homicide'


"Homicide Live!" an evening of performances by the cast and creators of the Baltimore-based television series, will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Vagabond Theatre. The event will benefit the Fells Point Creative Alliance, a nonprofit organization that promotes the arts and humanities in Fells Point and Baltimore.

In conjunction with the reading, Mary Lin Yoshimura, an artist and the wife of "Homicide" writer and producer James Yoshimura, will exhibit painted chairs, sculptures and collages.

BMA greeters

The Baltimore Museum of Art is looking for volunteers to serve as greeters in the museum's lobby and galleries.

Greeters, who are needed for weekdays and weekends, will be asked to make a commitment for one year, working two three-hour shifts each months. Training is scheduled for late February. Application deadline is Feb. 9. Call (410) 396-7137.

Paste paper

Steven Loew, a book conservation technician formerly with the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, will lead a workshop on decorative paste papers at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at Halcyon Gallery, 909 Fell St. The workshop is sponsored by the Fells Point Creative Alliance.

Decorative paste papers are made by adding color to a paste and adhering it to a paper. Participants will create several sheets of paste paper. The cost is $10 for alliance members, $15 for nonmembers. Call (410) 276-1651.

Registration extended

Art and leisure classes begin the week of Feb. 12 at the University of Maryland's Art and Learning Center, College Park.
