Two teen-agers attacked after leaving restaurant

Two teen-agers were attacked and one of them robbed Monday night as they left Clyde's restaurant in Columbia's Town Center, police said.

Police said a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were leaving the restaurant about 8:30 p.m. when one attacker grabbed the male victim around his head and a second assailant searched for the youth's wallet.

The attackers tried to take the female's purse and jewelry, but she resisted.

The robbers fled with the male victim's wallet.

Police did not identify the two juvenile victims.

One robber was described as a 5-foot-tall, chubby, unshaven black male, 18 to 20 years old, wearing a black leather jacket.

The other was described as a young black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing an orange pullover jacket.
