Police name motorcyclist killed in crash

Howard County police have released the identity of a 36-year-old Baltimore motorcyclist who was dragged about 100 feet after being struck Tuesday night in Laurel by a hit-and-run driver.

Glenn Michael Trawinski of the 2600 block of Wilkens Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was flown by state police helicopter after the 8 p.m. accident on Washington Boulevard near Freestate Drive.

Police were looking yesterday for the driver of a pickup truck or sports utility vehicle that they said hit Mr. Trawinski's 1995 BMW motorcycle from behind as he rode north on Washington Boulevard. They described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white Ford pickup truck or a 1980 to 1984 model Bronco with damage to the left front headlight area, turn signal light and bumper.

Anyone with information on the incident can call police at (410) 313-3700.
