An Edgewater woman was arrested Monday and charged with resisting arrest after she kicked, bit and spat on officers, county police said.
Police went to a house in the 900 block of Mayo Road in Edgewater about 7:15 p.m. Monday after receiving a call about a domestic dispute. The woman told police that she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, who had locked her out of the house, police said.
Once inside the house, the woman started yelling and cursing the officers and her boyfriend, police said. When Officer Frederick Paesch tried to calm her, police said, she tried to attack her boyfriend. The officer attempted to block her attack with his arm, but the woman screamed at him and slapped him in the face, police said.
When Officer Katherine Sterling and Officer Paesch tried to arrest her, she kicked Officer Sterling in the right leg and shoulder and kicked Officer Paesch in the stomach, police said. She also bit Officer Sterling on both hands when the officer tried to handcuff her, police said, and spat in Officer Paesch's right eye as she was put in a patrol car.
Officer Sterling was treated at Anne Arundel Medical Center for the cuts on her hands and released, police said.
Lisa Dove, 33, of the 900 block of Mayo Road was charged with assault and battery on police and resisting arrest.
