A county police officer and four other men suffered minor injuries yesterday, when a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro hit a police car on Crain Highway, county police said.
Witnesses told police the driver of the Camaro, Paul William Drgos, 20, of the 7800 block of Americana Circle in Glen Burnie, was westbound on Aquahart Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. He did not stop at the red flashing traffic light at the Crain Highway intersection, police said.
The police car, a 1995 Chevrolet Caprice driven by Officer Patrick Andrew Fisher, was northbound on Crain Highway in the left lane when it was struck by the Camaro.
The Caprice skidded across the intersection and hit a traffic signal pole. The Camaro came to rest against a curb, police said.
Mr. Drgos was treated for a shoulder injury at St. Agnes Hospital. Two passengers, Kevin Robert Manning, 26, of the 1300 block of Severn Station Road in Severn and James Christopher Braswell, 18, of the first block of Lake Shore Drive in Pasadena, were treated for minor injuries at Harbor Hospital Center. A third passenger, John David Miller, 21, of the 7100 block of Severn Station Road, and Officer Fisher were treated at North Arundel Hospital.
No charges had been filed by yesterday afternoon.
