Great Grout

Of course you want your house to look perfect the holiday-entertaining season, but do you really want to waste precious hours replacing stained grouting between tiles? Certainly not. So check out Brookstone's roll-on grout whitener for $11.50. Applied with a small applicator wheel, the whitener dries in 24 hours. Look for it at stores in the retail chain, or call (800) 926-7000.

Original Ornaments

What's the Christmas season without the purchase of a few new holiday ornaments? Here are two with a local connection. The Preservation Society is selling a 24-karat gold-plated, three-dimensional scene of the Federal Hill waterfront. The ornament, suitable for hanging in a window or on a holiday tree, is $16 including tax and shipping. Send your check, payable to Preservation Society, to: the Robert Long House, 812 S. Ann St., Baltimore, Md. 21231.

Up in Lutherville, artist Judy Mace is making one-of-a-kind Christmas balls. The balls are made of imported German glass decorated with acrylic paint. Each one is slightly different from the others. Available in six designs and colors, they range from $11.50 to $15. Look for them at Watson's Garden Center in Lutherville and Stebbins Anderson in Towson.
