Loretta L. Coney, 85, secretary and farmer
Loretta L. Coney, a retired secretary and former farmer, died Nov. 9 of heart failure at her Towson residence. She was 85.
Mrs. Coney, who had lived in Northwood for many years, retired in 1975 from the state Department of Education, where she had been a secretary for 20 years. Earlier, she operated a cattle and wheat farm with her husband, whom she married in 1940, in the Columbia River Basin in Washington State, before returning to bTC Baltimore.
The former Loretta Lewandowski was born and raised in East Baltimore, and received her education in city schools.
She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. today at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, Loch Raven Boulevard and Woodbourne Avenue, Baltimore.
She is survived by two sons, Kriston Coney of Atlanta and Paul Coney of San Francisco; a daughter, Pamela Thomas-Schenk of Millersville; two sisters, Cecilia Doski of Towson and Irene
Lucignani of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a grandson.
Robert Mason Green: The year of retired Army Maj. Robert Mason Green's retirement as director of security and special services at Maryland General Hospital was reported incorrectly Sunday. He retired in 1981.
