State police arrested and charged a man with numerous counts of burglary and related charges Wednesday.
The man, who was apprehended in an automobile on Route 140 at Hemlock Lane near Westminster on Wednesday, was wanted in thefts in Westminster, Finksburg and Eldersburg.
The man is the second suspect arrested in the case. Police Tuesday arrested a woman who is accused of taking stolen goods to pawnshops.
Officers said jewelry, guns and cash valued at $15,835 and a Chevrolet Corvette worth $8,000 were stolen. Police said some of the stolen property had been sold for cash and drugs.
Robert Carter Shore, 20, who frequents Carroll County but has no known permanent address, was being held in lieu of $5,000 bond on burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property and conspiracy charges after his arrest Wednesday night.
Police arrested Kelley Marie Johnsen, 18, of the 3300 block of Offutt Road in Randallstown on Tuesday. She was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail yesterday.
Westminster man held on drug charge
City police arrested a Westminster man and charged him with possession of heroin after they stopped a vehicle Wednesday.
Officers stopped a car after they received information that the vehicle contained drugs. A drug-sniffing dog scanned the car and officers said they recovered a small amount of heroin and cash.
Dennis Barry Jennings, 21, of West Main Street was arrested and was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond yesterday evening.
Owls marching band places 4th in competition
Westminster High School Owls marching band competed in Brunswick High School's Tournament of Bands competition Saturday.
The band scored 80.5 and placed fourth in Group 3 bands of 56 to 75 musicians. The Owls also earned the best band front award.
Francis Scott Key High School's annual Showcase of Bands, also on Westminster's schedule, was canceled Saturday because of inclement weather.
The Owls' next competition will be tomorrow at Jefferson High School.
Pancake breakfast set for tomorrow
The Friends of the Village will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. tomorrow in Carroll Lutheran Village Dining Room, 205 Mark Way, Westminster.
Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, orange juice, coffee and tea. A bake table will be set up.
Tickets at the door are $4.50 for adults and $2.25 for children 3 to 12. Proceeds will be used for projects and services to benefit residents of Carroll Lutheran Village.

Westminster: A resident of West Main Street reported to city police that someone broke out the sunroof of her car and stole property while the vehicle was parked near her home Wednesday. She estimated the damage and theft at $400.
Westminster: A resident of Pennsylvania Avenue told city police that someone damaged her auto by scratching the side Wednesday. The vehicle was parked in front of her house and the damage was estimated at $200.
