Liquor board OKs license transfers for 2 businesses


Carroll County's Board of License Commissioners has approved two liquor license transfers in the Mount Airy area.

Board members approved the transfer of a Class A Beer, Wine and Liquor license from Harvey Pollatos, Beverly Hames and Paul Hames to Thomas E. Dougherty and Margaret A. Phillips. The Pollatos-Hames partnership had been operating Ridgeside

Spirits at 1511 Ridgeside Drive in Mount Airy, which will become BJ's Liquors.

Liquor board members also approved transferring a Class B Beer, Wine and Liquor license from Douglas W. Henley, Joan F. Henley and Dennis D. Collins to James O. Lash Sr. and Todd M. Rabette.

The Henleys and Mr. Collins owned Rewsters Restaurant and Lounge at 4328 Ridge Road in Taylorsville. The new owners have changed the name to The Ridge House.
