McDonogh, now 11-0, unbeaten in 8 years


McDonogh's girls tennis team completed its eighth straight season without a loss yesterday when the Eagles (11-0) swept AIS A Division rival Bryn Mawr (9-1) in five matches.

The AIS's top singles player, freshman Vicki Brick, defeated Bryn Mawr freshman Sara Barnett, 6-2, 6-2. At No. 2 singles, Heather Cole beat previously unbeaten Heather Brownley by the same score.

In doubles, Stephanie Rosen and Bana Hajj won in straight sets, while Stacy Eyth and Leena Krishnaswamy, as well as Shireen Santosham and Ellen Haller, won in split sets, the only two sets the Eagles have dropped this season.
