THE BALTIMORE SUN

A La Plata man was arrested yesterday after he fell through the ceiling of a house under construction in Davidsonville, county police said. Officers said he told them he had been looking for a warm place to stay.

Police said they received a call shortly after 9 a.m. that a man had fallen through the ceiling of a house on Valmeade Drive.

The man apparently had been in the attic when he stepped onto Sheetrock that didn't hold him, police said .

He fell through the ceiling into kitchen where a witness who called police found him.

The man ran away after being discovered, but left behind a driver's license, which was turned over to police.

Police went to a farm in the 3500 block of Patuxent River Road where an officer found a man in an old farm truck and arrested him.

Michael David Thomson, 32, of the 10600 block of Village Drive was charged with breaking and entering, destruction of property and trespassing.
