Teresa "Tess" Crocker
School: Mount De Sales Academy for Girls
Tess, a senior at Mount De Sales Academy in Catonsville, has a grade-point average of 3.62 in mostly honors and advanced placement courses. Her schedule this year includes advanced placement English, European history and Latin.
Tess has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. She is president of the Student Government. She is vice president of the Drama Club and contributes to Images, the school literary magazine. Tess is a member of the Academy Club, an organization that recruits students to Mount De Sales.
She also is a Girl Scout and has been in scouting in Howard County for 10 years. She is working on a Gold Award, the highest honor for Girl Scouts. Tess' project is to have the floor retiled at Camp Ilchester, a Girl Scout camp in Ellicott City.
"Tess is always dependable and extremely responsible," said Barbara A. Munson, director of guidance at Mount De Sales. "She has been a wonderful role model for the underclassmen and a great asset to Mount De Sales. We are proud to have her."
Tess' parents are Warren Crocker and Cherie Amato. She has a brother, Danny.
Plans: Tess is interested in art history and international relations.
Her comments: Tess said she has enjoyed Mount De Sales. "I like the fact that it's all girls here. They are more supportive. And, when you are going through so many changes at this age, that is a help."
