No. 2 Dunbar (5-1) at Lake Clifton (4-2)

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: Playoff implications abound for both teams. Dunbar has won 17 of its last 18 games, including three straight. The Lakers winners of three straight since losing, 14-8, to No. 3 Patterson, have RB Darnell Pearsall (874 rushing yards, six TDs) and second-team All-Metro WR Terril Lowery (16 receptions, 326 yards, six TDs). They presently rank third in the 4A North Region but a distant 14th in the race for a spot in the eight-team state playoffs. The Poets, leaders of the 3A East, would be the $H fourth-seeded playoff team if the field was formed today. Dunbar has been led by LB-TE Tommy Polley (50 career sacks), RB-LB Ali Culpepper (seven sacks, 901 rushing yards, seven TDs) and QB Anthony Wiggins (1,047 yards passing, six TDs). RB Brett Thomas (516, five TDs) and RB Jason Boyce (three TDs) have also excelled behind L Deon Johnson (6-3, 320), L Dwayne Green (6-4, 240) and L Antar Simel (230). Polley (six interceptions), Culpepper (four) and Dalnell Singfield (four) lead Dunbar's secondary.

Forest Park (3-2) at Carver (4-2)

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: The Foresters lead the 2A East Region and occupy the fourth seed for the playoffs despite having lost to region rival City (third region). Leading the Foresters are RB Aaron Thompson (696 rushing, three TDs), RB Sharif Small (510, two), QB Adrian Griffin (560 passing yards, four TDs) and WR Calvin Thurmond (16 receptions, 337 yards, four TDs). Carver, of the 3A, ranks third in the East Region and 13th overall. The Bears soar behind QB Andre Moore (565 yards passing, six TDs), WR Kemo Arrington (19 receptions, 269 yards, two TDs), WR Andre Falcon (12, 92, two) and WR J.C. Frierson (10, 80, one).

No. 13 Randallstown (5-1) vs. Woodlawn (4-2) at Catonsville C.C.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Outlook: Randallstown, under first-year coach James Carpenter, ranks third in its 3A North Region and 11th overall in its quest for a position in the eight-team playoff field. Last week Woodlawn (4-1 in county 3A-4A league) blasted Perry Hall, 28-7, but trails the Rams (4-0 league) in the playoff chase. RB Devin Johnson (823 rushing, 13 TDs) and WR Felix Buchanan (17 catches, 371 yards, five TDs) carry the Rams. Warriors LB Wayne Barbour and LB Hakim Hughes last week helped to shut down the area's top passer in Perry Hall's Kevin Znamirowski (1,301 passing yards, 14 TDs), and RB Maurice Walker rushed for 188 yards and three TDs.

Catonsville (4-2) vs. No. 6 Overlea (6-0) at Dundalk C.C.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Outlook: Overlea (5-0 in county 1A-2A league) leads its 2A North Region handily and is the third seed so far in its pursuit for a spot in the eight-team playoff field. It has RB James Holley (869 rushing, seven TDs), among the area's top 10 rushers. Catonsville (2-2 league), fifth in the region and 21st overall, needs big games from Rashaam Harcum (804 rushing, seven TDs) and Ryan Davis (614, five).


No. 10 St. Paul's (6-0) at Severn (5-1)

Time: noon.

Outlook: St. Paul's (2-0 league) is on a roll behind RB Chris Berrier (944 rushing, 10 TDs), the area's fifth-leading rusher. Severn (1-1), last year's MIAA B champ, has won twice since getting blown out, 35-7, by John Carroll -- a team St. Paul's later beat, 13-3.
