Bar fined $500 for serving alcohol to teen

The city's liquor board fined a Fells Point bar $500 yesterday for serving alcohol to a minor who had been drinking with a Harford County man charged in a drunken driving accident that killed two teen-agers in June.

The three-member board fined the Greene Turtle, a bar in the 700 block of S. Broadway, after Russell LaGreca, 19, testified that he slipped into the bar without showing identification.

Mr. LaGreca of Harford County said he was drinking that night with Christopher W. Smith, who was under 21 and also was served alcohol.

A few hours later, the car Mr. Smith was driving crossed the center line of Route 152 in Fallston and struck two teens who were walking along the road. Mr. Smith was 20 at the time.

He is awaiting trial in Harford County on charges of manslaughter, reckless driving and several charges of driving while intoxicated.

In a related action, the board members said they may reopen the case heard last month against Bohager's Bar and Grill in which the board dismissed charges that the bar served alcohol to minors who drank with Mr. Smith on the same night.
