Howard County Poetry and Literature Society (HoCoPoLitSo) will celebrate Arts and Humanities Month with prize-winning biographers Francine Du Plessix Gray and David Levering Lewis at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at Smith Theatre, Howard Community College.
They will discuss their work and answer questions.
Ms. Du Plessix Gray, a journalist, is the author of "Rage and Fire," a book about the life of Louise Colet.
She also wrote "Divine Disobedience: Profiles in Catholic Radicalism" about the Catonsville Nine, which won the 1970 National Catholic Book Council award.
She was decorated by the French government for her articles on Lyon Gestapo chief Klaus Barbie.
Mr. Lewis, a historian, is the author of "W. E. B. DuBois: Biography of a Race," for which he was awarded the 1994 Pulitzer Prize and the Parkman and Bancroft prizes in history.
General admission is $10. College staff and students with identification are admitted free.
