Fast-food deliveryman robbed during drop-off


A chicken deliveryman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money Monday by three unarmed men who jumped him as he was making a delivery, county police said.

Tariq Murtaza, 27, a deliveryman for Cluck University chicken in Laurel, was making a delivery to an apartment in the 200 block of Red Clay Road in Laurel about 10 p.m. Monday. When he walked into the apartment building, the men robbed him and fled, police said.

Knife-wielding robber steals cash from shoe store

A man with a 6-inch serrated knife robbed a Pic N Pay shoe store in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road in Odenton of an undisclosed amount of money Monday, county police said.

The man walked into the store shortly before 2 p.m. and forced the manager to empty the register at knifepoint, police said. He ++ fled in a midsize white car, police said.
