Dulaney managed just one shot in the second half, but that was all the Lions needed to upset No. 13 Franklin, 1-0, yesterday.
For most of the half, the Indians (8-2 overall, 5-2 league), who had not been shut out all season, pounded the Lions' defense.
"We outplayed them in the second half with the exception of one time down and in, and that's what it is a lot of times in field hockey," said Franklin coach Carol Smith. "It could have gone either way. We certainly had many opportunities."
But it only takes one and yesterday, the Lions (5-5, 4-3) made theirs count. Christy Gordon shot out of a crowd in front of the goal past Franklin keeper Amy Whitcomb (four saves).
