The manager of a Pasadena bank who chased away two robbers while wielding a gun last month no longer is working for the bank he tried to protect.
Patrick O. Lansey, who was placed on paid administrative leave after the holdup of the Atlantic Federal Savings Bank branch in the 3800 block of Mountain Road, resigned or was dismissed last week, said an official at the bank's headquarters in Towson.
"All I can say is Mr. Lansey is no longer with this bank," said Mark Lachowicz, vice president in charge of branch operations and security. He would not discuss the reasons for Mr. Lansey's departure.
Mr. Lansey, a resident of Baltimore, did not return phone calls.
Two men walked into the bank about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 6. One held a gun on the employees and customers while the other cleaned out cash drawers. Mr. Lansey, brandishing his own weapon, chased the robbers from the bank and fired one shot into the air.
County police later arrested two men and have issued an arrest warrant for another.
