Birth center gains $37,000 in golf charity

The proceeds from North Arundel Hospital's Seventh Annual Golf Tournament were presented recently to the staff of the hospital's planned birth center.

The tournament raised more than $37,000 to help pay for the "Special Beginning, Birth and Women's Center," scheduled to open in the spring of 1996 in Arnold.

The tournament has raised nearly $250,000 for hospital use over the years.

In another fund-raising effort, the hospital auxiliary will conduct a book sale in the main lobby from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
