RESIDENTS of Olde Brooklyn Park are invited to attend the Olde Brooklyn Park Improvement Association meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. tomorrow in the cafeteria of Brooklyn Park Elementary School, 200 14th Ave. Membership dues of $4 per family are now being accepted. Come voice your concerns and hear others in the community.
The Aid Association for Lutherans will sponsor a Sour Beef/Roast Beef Dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 28, at St. John Lutheran Church, 226 Washburn Ave. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 years and under, and can be purchased at the door or in advance. Proceeds will benefit the mortgage reduction fund.

The Human Relations Committee is sponsoring a "Kids Helping Kids" project through Oct. 31 at Brooklyn Park Elementary School. Students are asked to bring nonperishable food such as canned goods and boxed items. The food will then be given to local food banks for distribution to families in need.
The United Methodist Youth Fellowship of Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church, 110 Townsend Ave., has joined the ministry of helping to feed the homeless.
The youths will make 200 sandwiches and distribute them in Baltimore on the fourth Sunday of each month.
The ministry needs donations of cash, bread, cheese, fresh fruit, deodorant and disposable razors.

Congratulations to these North County High School students who were nominated to the Homecoming Court during Spirit Week. Becky Cook, Brandy Johnson, Jackie Jones, Julie Macey and Jaime Rollette were nominated for Homecoming Queen. Maurice Bowie, C.J. Jones, Joe Heisson, Mark Miller and Matt Robey were nominated for Homecoming King.
The winners were announced Oct. 7 during half-time at the homecoming football game.
Becky Cook and Matt Robey walked away with the crowns for King and Queen. Runners-up were Maurice Bowie and Brandy Johnson.

The Arundel Improvement Association will hold its annual Children's Halloween Party from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 28. All neighborhood children age 11 and under are invited to attend, but must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are asked to bring their association identification card. Prizes will be given for the ugliest, prettiest and most original costumes.
Goodies will be provided by the association. Parents are asked to donate cupcakes.
