...*TC The Baltimore Stallions, who have endured two season-ending injuries in their defensive backfield, most likely will be without cornerback Irv Smith when they resume their schedule against the visiting British Columbia Lions, at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21.
A magnetic resonance imaging exam has revealed a torn rotator cuff muscle in Smith's left shoulder, an injury he suffered in the closing minutes of Baltimore's 29-27 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday.
Smith might also miss the regular-season finale against Hamilton before returning for the playoffs in November. The Stallions are off this week.
"The bye came at the right time," Baltimore coach Don Matthews said.
Baltimore lost cornerback Karl Anthony for the year to a knee injury in the season opener. Free safety Lester Smith suffered a broken foot against Edmonton two months ago.
* The Stallions will hold a "Football is Funball" clinic from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium. About 1,500 children are expected to attend.
Twenty players, including running back Chris Wright, nose tackle Jearld Baylis and kicker Carlos Huerta, will be on hand to teach passing, blocking and kicking techniques. For more information, call (410) 554-1010.
