Liberty High band wins 2 tournaments


The Liberty High School Lions' Pride Marching Band has won first place in its last two tournaments.

The band competed at Triton High School's tournament in Runnemeade, N.J., Sept. 30. The Lions' Pride score of 88.15 also earned it the best percussion award in Group 3, consisting of bands with 56 to 75 musicians.

On Saturday at Cumberland Valley, Pa., the band placed first with a score of 88.25, again receiving the best percussion award in Group 3.

The band is scheduled to compete in the Maryland State Championships this weekend at Towson State University.
