Man, 34, charged with possession of crack cocaine

County police arrested a Severn man Friday on drug charges after police found 35 bags of crack cocaine and a package of PCP-laced marijuana in a car parked on a Meade High School parking lot.

Police said they found a man sleeping in his car in the school parking lot about midnight after a home football game, asked to search the car and found the drugs.

Police arrested James Columbis Brown, 34, of the 1700 block of Meade Village Road in Severn and charged him with three counts each of possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine on school property.

Spalding High School to sponsor open house

Archbishop Spalding High School will sponsor an open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at the school, 8080 New Cut Road, Severn.

Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend to learn about the school's curriculum, tour the school and meet the faculty and students.
