Nichols Bethel church to hold oyster and ham dinner Oct. 28


NICHOLS BETHEL UNITED Methodist Church will hold its annual oyster and ham dinner from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 28 in the church hall. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children under 6 eat free.

This family-style dinner will include oysters, ham, salads and desserts. There also will be a bazaar featuring homemade jams, jellies, pickles and other baked goods. For tickets or information, call (410) 674-2272.

Christian German Women

The Christian German Women's group will meet at noon Monday in the blue room of the Chapel Center at Rockenback Avenue in Fort Meade. German women and women interested in polishing German language skills are invited to come and enjoy Christian and Heimat music and German food. German-speaking women over 18 are welcome.

Women's Aglow seminar

The Odenton-Fort Meade Women's Aglow will sponsor a mini-seminar, "A Women's Search for Value and Worth," at 7 p.m. Monday at the Jessup Community Center. Patricia A. Bigliardi, author and leader of seminars for single parents, will lead Monday's event. Ms. Bigliardi has led seminars throughout the United States and Canada.

In January 1994, she started Face to Face, a ministry dedicated to helping women deal with failed relationships and abortions. Her book, "Beyond the Hidden Pain of Abortion; A Journey from Silent Grief," "is about our search to find value and worth as women," said Ms. Bigliardi.

Professional Women's Network

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will hold the Professional Women's Network at 7 p.m. Thursday at Odenton Elementary School, 1290 Odenton Road.

Sandra Bearden, a professional image consultant and certified color analyst, will be the guest speaker. She will discuss concepts to help define a personal style, colors that bring out a more confident and dynamic image, body shapes, clothing styles and accessories.

Apple Butter and Craft Fair

Friends of Boy Scout Troop 871 will hold their fifth annual Apple Butter and Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Lawrence Parish Center, Route 175 in Jessup. Crafts, homemade apple butter and much more will be available.

Space reservations are $10.
