Redskins vs. Eagles

Site: Veterans Stadium, Philadelphia

Time: 1 p.m.

TV/Radio: Chs. 45, 5/WLIF (101.9 FM)

Line: Eagles by 3

Last week: The Redskins beat the Dallas Cowboys, 27-23, and the Eagles beat the New Orleans Saints, 15-10.

The series: The Redskins lead the series, 67-48-5, including the lone playoff game between the two teams, but have lost the past five games, all decided in the final 46 seconds.

On the sidelines: Norv Turner of the Redskins is 5-16 (3-7 on the road) in his second season. Ray Rhodes is 2-3 in his first season as the Eagles' coach.

What the Redskins have to do to win: Get good games from running back Terry Allen and quarterback Gus Frerotte against an Eagles defense that is tied for seventh in the league in yards allowed.

What the Eagles have to do to win: Run Ricky Watters against a Washington defense that is ranked 25th against the rush. If the Redskins choose to jam the line to stop Watters, Rodney Peete has to go deep to Fred Barnett and Calvin Williams.

Outlook: A pivotal game, with both teams seeking a .500 mark, and it figures to be another close one.

Stellino's pick: Redskins 21, Eagles 20 -- Since the Redskins have lost five straight to the Eagles in the final minute, they may have the law of averages on their side.
