2 men hold up shoe store, flee with cash

Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a Payless Shoe Source store in the 5000 block of Ritchie Highway of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday, county police said yesterday.

Police said the men walked into the store shortly after 11:30 a.m and shopped for several minutes. One of the men went up to the counter with a pair of boots, and as the clerk rang up the purchase, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money, police said.

The clerk complied, and both men fled.

Woman arrested after glass shatters

County police arrested an Odenton woman and charged her with destruction of property Tuesday after the glass in a lobby door of a Linthicum motel was shattered during an argument with the manager about paying her bill.

The manager of the Motel 6 in the 5100 block of Raynor Ave. in Linthicum, told police about noon that she had argued with a woman over payment for a room she had been renting.

The manager said she told the woman she had to check out or pay for another day, and that the woman rushed out of the lobby, pushing the door so hard that the glass shattered.

Police arrested Alice Jean Kimberland, 22, of the 600 block of Chapelgate Drive in Odenton outside the hotel.
