Bullets not sure Webber will show up at camp

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Washington Bullets' training camp is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning, and the club is uncertain if forward Chris Webber will be there.

The Bullets will gather at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va., tonight, and whether Webber -- a restricted free agent -- joins them depends on how contract talks progress today.

"Hopefully," said Fallasha Erwin, one of Webber's agents, when asked last night whether Webber would start camp with the rest of the team. "We've been talking intensively. Tomorrow [today] is going to give us an indication of what's going to happen.

"We've been dealing with a proposal from them, and now they'll see our proposal. If we feel we can get something done, I'll fly in and we'll try to finalize things. We've made some progress."
