Sodas and a small amount of cash are stolen from 4 area businesses


Four businesses in the Jessup area were broken into Friday or early Saturday when glass was removed from their front doors, Howard County police said.

The break-ins took place in the 10500 block of Guilford Road between 10 a.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. Rolls of pennies, nine sodas and a small amount of cash were stolen.

The businesses were: Henningsen-Reed Electric Co. Inc., R. A. Daffer & Son Ltd., Ohare Graphics and Meleney Equipment Inc., police said.

North Laurel: 9000 block of Stebbing Way: Someone tried to steal a 1995 Mazda 626 late Saturday or Sunday, police said.

North Laurel: 8800 block of Evermore Court: Burglars pried open the rear basement door of a new home and stole a washer and dryer Thursday night or Friday morning, police said.
