DO YOU WANT to know what is in fashion this year, have fun bidding at an auction, and enjoy a buffet luncheon, all in one afternoon? Then look no further than La Fontaine Bleu, site of Ferndale United Methodist Church's fourth annual Fashion Show and Crazy Auction from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Ladies, bring your husbands as there will be fashions for him too. And, he will enjoy the fun of bidding on more than 100 items the auction has to offer.

Members of the Friendly Thyme Herb Club will meet at an earlier time this month to attend a lecture and luncheon at Oregon Ridge. A short business meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Ferndale Linthicum Senior Center. A car pool to the luncheon will leave the center at 9 a.m.
* Club members were well represented at the recent Anne Arundel County Fair and went home with many awards in the herb category. Judy Widlake took Best in Show for her fresh herb wreath and Lois Wilson received Champion for a dried herb wreath. Blue ribbons went to Joan Childs, Mary Goode, Joan Krammes, Dorothy Malchester, Cleo McCoy, Helen Patterson and Lola Zabetakis.
Members also put on a tea for fair-goers on Seniors Day. Herbal cakes, cookies and other tidbits were served.

Players, parents and coaches who still have uniforms, basketballs, score flippers and other items are asked to turn them in at the Linthicum Ferndale Youth Athletic Association field house as soon as possible or make other arrangements by (( calling Lee Schwarzenburg, basketball commissioner, at 766-7758.
Basketball registration for the girls and boys intramural program and traveling teams will be held through Oct. 20. The times are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays at the field house.
If you want to get involved with the basketball program by becoming a coach, plan on attending a meeting at the clubhouse Oct. 17.
The public is invited to an October Festival sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church. Chapter members will hold a short business meeting at 1 p.m.

Boy Scout Troop 550 enjoyed another weekend camping trip, this time to the Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area on the Eastern Shore.
The troop was led by Acting Senior Patrol Leader David Starr. Scouts Jason Bumgardner, Jeff Craighead, Carl Daren, Brian Hitchcock, Sean Jennings, John Rouse and Dan Severn also went on the trip. The scouts were accompanied by Scoutmaster Bruce Henkel, Assistant Scoutmasters John McCarty and Rick Shannon and Committeeman Larry Jennings.
