A Pasadena man thwarted an armed robbery attempt Tuesday when he grabbed his assailant's gun during a struggle, county police said.
The 18-year-old man suffered a slight hand injury when the gun went off during the struggle, but he refused medical treatment, police said.
The victim told police he was walking through a field toward the rear of Farmers National Bank in the 3000 block of Mountain Road in Pasadena shortly before 10:30 p.m. when a man approached him from behind and demanded his bank card.
When the victim turned around, he saw the man pointing a small revolver at him. He grabbed the gun, which discharged during the struggle, police said.
The culprit fled, and police were unable to find him during a search.
Police are looking for a white male in his early 20s, with a thin build and wearing a dark baseball cap and a dark, hooded sweat shirt and blue jeans.
Two charged with smoking psychedelic drug in park
Police arrested a Millersville woman and a Chester man Monday and charged them with smoking drugs in Southgate Old Mill park.
Authorities said the incident began when an officer saw a 1978 Ford truck parked in the park shortly after 11 p.m. and a man and a woman sitting nearby. When the officer shone his car lights on the two, the man approached the officer. Officer Ross R. Passman said the man's speech was slurred but he did not smell any alcohol.
The officer told the man that the park was closed at dark, and the man motioned for the woman to come to the car. Officer Passman said she also seemed intoxicated.
The officer said he found a rolled cigarette containing PCP, a powerful psychedelic drug, in the area. He also found more PCP in a cooler inside the man's truck, the report said.
Police arrested Bruce Allen Wagner, 33, of the 1900 block of Church Hill Drive and Deanna Lynn Klosterman, 29, of the 8200 block of Victoria Road and charged them with possession of PCP.
