Severn man charged in carjacking


A Severn man was arrested Tuesday in the robbery and carjacking of a man outside a convenience store, county police said.

According to a report, Keith William Bunner, 26, was on a pay phone about 12:30 a.m. at the Pop Shop Mart in the 2200 block of Johns Hopkins Road. A man walked up to him, pointed a gun in his face, and forced him to the ground, police said. The gunman took Mr. Bunner's wallet, jumped into his car and drove off, heading north on Route 3.

Minutes later, an officer spotted the car heading west on Waugh Chapel Road near Dairy Farm Road, police said. The officer stopped the car, but the suspect escaped. Police searched the area with the help of a police dog and a helicopter.

About 2 a.m., officers found a man who fit the suspect's description near Old Dairy Farm Road. Mr. Bunner identified the man as the one who robbed him, police said.

Armetis Demond Booker, 20, of the 8300 block of Timberlake Court, was charged with carjacking, armed robbery, theft, assault and battery, and other related charges.

Three men rob gas station store

Three men who never showed a weapon robbed the Shell gas station at Colony Seven Road and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway of an undisclosed amount of money Monday, county police said.

According to police, three men entered the station's convenience store shortly before 10:30 p.m., stuck something in the clerk's back, and told the clerk to give them all the money.

The clerk complied, and the men fled, police said.

$370 in money orders stolen from store

Someone stole $370 worth of money orders Sunday from a 7-Eleven store in the 1300 block of Odenton Road, county police said.

Just before 11:30 p.m., a man entered the store and asked for $370 worth of money orders. After the clerk had printed the money orders, the man snatched them from the clerk's hand and ran to a waiting car, police said. The car was last seen turning west on Route 175, police said.
