Teen-ager suffers minor injuries in brief struggle with robbers

A 13-year-old Columbia boy was pushed to the ground, cut and robbed of a few dollars by two robbers in Columbia's Wilde Lake village Sunday, Howard County police said.

The boy suffered minor injuries to the chest, hand and torso during a brief struggle with the two male robbers. He was treated and released at Howard County General Hospital the same night, police said.

He was unable to give a detailed description of the two people who approached him from behind while he was walking in the 5200 block of West Running Brook Road about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

One of the robbers displayed a knife and held the boy down while the other searched through his pockets and took about $3. The two suspects then ran, police said.
