Allen is president of Wartsila Power
Wartsila Power Development Inc., with headquarters in Annapolis, announced that Richard F. Allen has been selected as president. He will be responsible for the company's worldwide organization, activities and assets. Mr. Allen was formerly vice president for Latin America with Power Markets Development Co. and participated in the acquisition of Valle Hermosa S.A., a Bolivian generating company. PHH Corp. appointed David T. Aldridge vice president and chief information officer for the Hunt Valley-based company. He was formerly executive vice president and chief information officer for Banc One Mortgage of Indianapolis.
He holds a degree in international relations from the University of Maryland and a master's in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
His responsibilities will include strategy for developing systems that integrate technology with emerging business needs. His specialty is the use of technology to gain market advantage. Glen Meadows has chosen the Rev. Pete Pedersen as chaplain for the retirement community in the Glen Arm section of Baltimore County. Dr. Pedersen is a minister in the Baltimore Presbytery. He will coordinate worship services and be on-site
three days a week for office hours.
Leeson will manage restaurant at inn
The Admiral Fell Inn has picked David Leeson to manage its casual restaurant, The Point. Mr. Leeson had been supervisor.
The luxury waterfront hotel also announced the appointment of Leighann Canoni as executive secretary. She was previously cash office supervisor for a construction firm in Natick, Mass.
Lippitt promoted by W. B. Doner
W. B. Doner & Co. has chosen Scott Lippitt as executive vice president, account director. He had been a senior vice president, account director. Formerly with the Ogilvy & Mather agency and Black & Decker, he will be based in the international ad firm's Baltimore co-headquarters.
He is a 1981 Duke University graduate with a master's in business administration from Columbia University. Earlier this year, he was named to the board of directors of the Arby's Foundation. Eisner & Associates has announced the appointments of David Blum, formerly with Edelman Scott agency in Richmond, Va., as strategic planner and Ashley Smith, from Gray Kirk VanSant, as broadcast business manager.
Mr. Blum received a bachelor's degree in government and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia and a master's in marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Smith received a bachelor of liberal arts from the University of Mississippi.
Hershey-Philbin, of Camp Hill, a national marketing communications agency, has selected Andrea Riso as vice president for marketing and public relations. A graduate of Boston University, she is a consultant to the 1996 Olympic Games and sits on several charity and cultural organizations boards of directors. A 15-year marketing and advertising veteran, she is former director of marketing and public relations of Cable ADCOM.
Bank appoints Cole senior vice president
First National Bank of Maryland has appointed William H. Cole III senior vice president. With the bank for 19 years, he oversees the supermarket banking division. Formerly a regional vice president, he was director of retail sales. A resident of the Federal Hill section of South Baltimore, he is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Stonier School of Banking and attended law school at the University of Maryland.
Myersville bank appoint Selders
Myersville Bank selected Brian K. Selders vice president and senior lending officer. He was formerly with First United National Bank & Trust. He has held a variety of positions at First United National Bank and Trust, an affiliated company. In 1992, he was promoted to his most recent post, community office manager at First United's Grantsville office.
Wilcox joins Mercantile Mortgage
Mercantile Mortgage Corp. announced that William L. Wilcox, Jr. has joined the Mercantile Bank subsidiary as executive vice president. The former president of First National Mortgage Corp., and certified mortgage banker holds a business masters degree from Loyola College and is a licensed real estate broker and appraiser.
Bird joins Zeidler Roberts
Zeidler Roberts Partnership, announced that John R. Bird has joined the Baltimore architectural firm as director of project management. He comes to ZRPI from RTKL Associates, where he held the position of associate vice president and senior project manager.
