Man holds knife on patron, then flees from store

A man ran into a High's store in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie on Wednesday, held a knife to a customer's face and demanded money, county police said yesterday.

Police said the man ran into the store just before 4 p.m., grabbed a customer by the shoulders, held the knife to her face and demanded all of her money. However, he fled when he noticed a clerk on the phone, police said.

Police are looking for a white man, 5 feet 7 to 6 feet, with a thin build and scraggly, shoulder-length hair. He had a two- to three-day growth of beard and was wearing jeans, T-shirt and tennis shoes. His face was covered with a dark shirt.
