Man arrested on marijuana charge

County police arrested a 20-year-old Severn man on drug charges Tuesday after stopping his at Ritchie Highway and Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie.

Police said yesterday that Officer David K. Frendlich stopped the car shortly after 1:30 a.m. because it had only one working headlight.

The officer smelled marijuana as he was speaking to the driver and searched the car, police said. He found a multicolored pipe and a substance that tested positive as marijuana in the ashtray on the dashboard and a package of smoking screens and rolling papers, police said.

Police arrested Thomas E.L. Patton, 20, of the 8200 block of Grassland Road in Severn and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
