MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED: Southwestern District -- A man wanted by Hackensack, N.J. police for the murder of a man on Sept. 2 was arrested yesterday in the 2200 block of Wheatley Drive by members of the Maryland Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force. A tip led to the man's arrest. Michael Roberson, 29, charged in a warrant with shooting a man five times in the back while the victim rode a bicycle on a Hackensack street, was arrested without incident and is awaiting an extradition hearing.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed the Shell mini-mart in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave. of more than $100 yesterday.
ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Police were seeking a gunman who robbed the Hi-Gear auto supply store in the 4500 block of Edmondson Ave. of $100 yesterday.
DRUG RAID/ARREST: Southern District -- Members of the Violent Crimes Task Force raided an apartment in the 1300 block of W. Lombard St. Tuesday and arrested Julio Nunes,37, of that address and charged him under the drug kingpin law with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. The raid, led by Sgt. William Davis, came after residents of the neighborhood complained of someone shooting out the windows of homes and apartments Sunday night. Seized was cocaine valued at $8,000, heroin valued at $9,000, and $21,000.
SUSPICIOUS FIRE: Southern District -- Two firefighters were injured early today while battling a single-alarm fire of a grocery store in the 3800 block of Leo St. in Fairfield. Both were treated at area hospitals for unspecified injuries. Residents of apartments above the store reportedly escaped unharmed. The fire was under control in less than 30 minutes.
ROBBERY: Northern District -- A 62-year-old resident of the 3000 block of Abell Ave. was walking in the 300 block of E. 31st St. yesterday when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $60.
ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A homeless man was in the 4200 block of Reisterstown Road yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of a bus pass and $23.
SHOOTING: Woodlawn Precinct -- A 22-year-old employee at the Royal Farm store in the 1600 block of Forest Park Ave. was today listed in stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the chest by a gunman during a robbery Monday night. When the victim hesitated after the gunman ordered her and at least one other person down onto the floor, the gunman shot her. It was not immediately known how much money, if any, the gunman took before he fled on foot.
BURGLARY: White Marsh Precinct -- Someone entered a house in the 4300 block of Falls Park Road yesterday and stole an undisclosed sum of money.
BURGLARY BY DECEPTION: Parkville Precinct -- Police were seeking a couple posing as water department inspectors who entered the home of an elderly resident in the 9300 block of Avondale Road Monday and stole property from a bedroom while one of them distracted the occupant. The suspects wore uniforms with unknown type shoulder patches.
