A bandit flashed a pair of nun-chucks, weapons used in karate, at the clerk of a Shell station in the 500 block of Crain Highway Sunday and made off with an undetermined amount of money, county police said yesterday.
The man entered the station shortly before midnight and demanded money. When the clerk handed over the money, the man fled south on Crain Highway, police said.
Gunman robs cashier at movie theater
A gun-wielding man robbed the Sony Theatres in the 7400 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. Saturday of an undetermined amount of cash, county police said yesterday.
The man approached the ticket window about 4:15 p.m., pointed a gun at a cashier and demanded money, police said. When he got the money, the man ordered the cashier to lie on the floor and fled.
Kitchen equipment taken in burglary
Food Service Equipment Co. in the 100 block of Blades Lane in Glen Burnie was broken into Friday, and more than $10,000 worth of kitchen equipment was stolen, county police said.
Sandy K. Wyatt, an office manager, told police she arrived for work about 9 a.m. Saturday and noticed a front window had been broken.
Ms. Wyatt told police that entry apparently was through the window and that a rear bay door was opened to load six meat slicers, two microwave ovens, two cappuccino machines and two pizza-style ovens onto a waiting vehicle.
Businesswomen to hold networking sessions
The Glen Burnie Chapter of Business and Professional Women is introducing a new program at tomorrow's meeting.
Women's Opportunity to Network (WON) will provide businesswomen an opportunity to get the word out about services or products they offer. Networking sessions will be held for a half-hour before the regular business meeting, followed by a brief presentation to members.
Meetings, held in Room 307 of the Arundel Center North, 101 Crain Highway, are at 7 p.m. Network sessions are at 6:30 p.m.
