BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a garage in the 4300 block of Rugby Road over the weekend and stole a power lawn mower valued at $400.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Two potted ferns, together valued at nearly $300, were stolen over the weekend from the rear porch of a house in the 2800 block of St. Paul St. by someone who cut away part of the rear door.

BURGLARY/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police responding to a burglary at the Friends School in the 5100 block of N. Charles St. yesterday arrested two teen-age boys who reportedly had entered the school through a door and taken a VCR from the gymnasium. The boys were caught after a brief chase. The VCR was not recovered.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 2600 block of Robb St. was sitting on the front porch of a house in the 700 block of Exeter Hall Ave. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $160 and a pager valued at $40.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A driver for the Yellow cab company was in the 3900 block of Southclare Road yesterday when a passenger pulled out a knife and robbed him of nearly $80.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen from a house in the 2400 block of Pickering Drive yesterday by someone who entered through a door.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Essex Precinct -- A 40-year-old resident of the 1600 block of Rickenbacker Road was walking near her home yesterday when she was stopped by a man who asked her for a dollar for bus fare. Before the woman could react, the man struck her in the face and robbed her of more than $100.

STOLEN CAR: Parkville Precinct -- A blue 1986 Toyota Camry with tags VXX 543 was stolen yesterday from the parking lot of the Perring Parkway Shopping Center in the 1900 block of E. Joppa Road.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Woodlawn Precinct -- An employee of Capitol Beverage in the 1600 block of Whitehead Court was arrested yesterday and charged with assaulting his supervisor with a knife during an argument. When the supervisor ordered the employee to leave the building, the employee allegedly pulled out a knife and lunged at the supervisor, cutting him on the right hand. A witness struck the suspect with a metal pipe and held him for police. Charged with assault with a deadly weapon was Kirk Carter, 36, of the 100 block of Willard St., Baltimore.
