What would summer be without digging into a pile of hot and spicy steamed crabs? My enjoyment of this summer ritual is even better if I don't have to cook or clean up the mess. Thankfully, the Auxiliary of Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company is going to make that possible.
The group is sponsoring a Crab Feast from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Mountain Road firehouse.
Along with all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, the menu features crab soup, hot roast beef, ham, veggies, corn on the cob, potato and pasta salads, cole slaw, cheese, munchies, beer, sodas, and setups.
The advance price for tickets, ordered by Aug. 10, is $20 per person. A limited number of $22 tickets may be available at the door.
There also will be door prizes, a three-way raffle and music by Short Circuit DJ's. Proceeds will benefit Lake Shore VFC.
To order tickets, call 360-6857.
