'92 star Haislett retires

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Nicole Haislett, winner of three swimming gold medals at the 1992 Olympic Games, announced her retirement from the sport.

Haislett, 24, spent the past six months training with the Resident National Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Haislett was enthusiastic when she signed up for the resident program, which is less than a year old, but her desire had waned in recent months.
