County police charged a Brooklyn Park couple Monday afternoon with stealing meat from a Basics warehouse, officials said.
Michael Lapsley, 33, a security officer at the Ritchie Highway store told police that he saw a man put two packs of chuck roast worth $13 and four packs of veal chops worth $27 in a cart shortly before 6 p.m. and go to an end aisle of the store. The man then talked to a woman who put the meat in her purse, the police report said.
Mr. Lapsley stopped the couple before they could leave the store and called police.
James Bennett, 31, and Kimberly Ann Ramsay, 34, both of the 5200 block of Kramme Ave., were charged with misdemeanor theft.
